Losing weight for charity? Heck yeah!

Hi. My name is Melissa, and this is a blog.

In the new year, the newest of years, the year that will be 2012, I am embarking on a quest to lose weight. As are many people at this time of year I hear you say. However, my weight loss journey has a twist. It is all for charity.

I have decided to embark on a 20 week sponsored weight loss mission for the charity IIH UK. Every year, they run a fundraising event, anyone can join, to raise money and awareness for the debilitating condition which is IIH. This year I have decided to join them. This year, the event will officially run from 9th January 2012 until 28th May 2012.

I thought it would be a good idea to document my journey here, on my blog. Who knows, if I am brave enough, I might even make video updates? Maybe? I'm not so sure about that. Depends how nice you are to me.

Now, the rules.

1) It does not matter how much weight you lose, as long as you lose some, or people will want their money back.
2)Speaking of money, you have to get people to sponsor you. Which they can do here www.justgiving.com/MelissaNaylor You can donate a set amount, rather than so much per pound or stone or whatever, so you know where you are.
3) Try lose the weight healthily. There is no point in starvation, fad diets, or silly LA style diets where you survive on a capsule of air a day.
4) Have fun! It's not a competition, it is not a race, it is a fundraising event.

As I mentioned before I will be fundraising for IIH UK whose website you can find linked below. You can also find a link below for my JustGiving sponsorship page where I hope you will go and donate.

This may seem short and sweet, which it is, but subscribe for a lot more updates on my weight loss, random journal entries, stories about my life, my journey, and just why I am raising money for IIH UK.

Thank you for reading, have a nice day.
